Barton received the Association of Surfing Professionals’ (ASP) Sportsman Award in 1995, the ASP Service to the Sport Award in 1997, was inducted into the Australian Surfing Hall of Fame in 1998 and into the Australian Sporting Hall of Fame in 2000.

For over 20 years, BARTON LYNCH has coached and mentored surfers of all levels, helping individuals unlock their greatest potential. A dedicated surf coach and guiding presence in the global surf world, BARTON LYNCH has built a community of like-minded surfers all striving to achieve greatness in and out of the water.

BARTON LYNCH’S personal surf coaching programs and alliances with a range of experienced expert coaches brings a holistic approach to his surf coaching programs that have fostered surfing talent from absolute beginners through to World Champions.

Surfing is about having fun, so it naturally follows that the better you get, the more fun you have!

The BARTON LYNCH Surf Coaching Programs are for everyone and anyone. Regardless of age and gender, location, or what you ride, all are welcome. These programs are specifically designed for those who have an interest in surfing as a craft and who want to improve their surf abilities.

BARTON LYNCH’s natural ability, sharp intellect and irrepressible social conscience combined have made him one of the most formidable figures in surfing throughout the past three decades.

Within the surfing community BARTON LYNCH is regarded as the ‘thinking man’s surfer’. The former World Champion earned himself a reputation on tour as a tactically astute competitor, as well as becoming a respected spokesperson for surfing as a sport worldwide.

With this experience comes a range of Surf Coaching Programs and Services including Consultancy, Motivational Speaking, the long running Blast Off Surf Festival, once in a lifetime Surf Trips and Corporate Events.

Since his retirement from the Professional Tour, BARTON’s work with the WSL has seen him become the voice of surfing and is known for his opinions, story telling and eloquence. Consequently he has appeared and spoken for many companies including BMW/MINI, BankWest, Commonwealth Bank, Sensis, ABN AMRO, Credit Suisse and Blake Dawson Waldron.

Blast Off provides an encouraging environment for Grommets (surfers 14 and under) and their families.

2023 sees the return of the 2023 BL BLAST OFF VIDEO CHALLENGE PRESENTED BY BARTON LYNCH PRO SURFING, THE VIDEO GAME. and we will again bring together the worldwide BLAST OFF community and share in the stoke of surfing while focussing on getting better at it.

The Global Virtual Event is inviting young surfers wherever they may be to join the fold and create positive change.

BL BLAST OFF began in Sydney, Australia and has grown internationally, built on a motto of “Coaching kids, not judging them”, BL BLAST OFF is accessible to all and doesn’t discriminate by gender or ability.
